Greg and I have been talking about one of my newest passions: knitting.  We've decided that there is a definitely a need for some luxurious yarn shops here in christchurch... Will the market sustain it?  don't know... but we're going to try.  I refuse to buy more acrylic crap.

here's what I envision:
very similar to the high quality yarn shops you'll find in North America, clean, good looking, small, smart shops filled with yarn and accessories that make any knitter drool.  I want customers to come fondle my yarn and realize that they can't live another day without it.  It's a legal addiction, but not nearly as bad for you as some others.

I need help:
This is where you come in.  I'm thinking the shop will be rebellious, fresh, new, interesting, playful, fun, most of all different from everything else these kiwis have seen... I need a name for the business.  Here are the two I've come up with and logo ideas to go with it.  I'd appreciate any additions and/or comments.

Le Petite Mouton Noir (a.k.a. The little black sheep) - do you prefer the english or french?  Logo: imagine a brick wall in a prison where the watchmen use a spotlight to find any escapees.  In the spotlight they find a little black sheep with a red French beret.  He/she is sheepishly knitting his own wool and realizes he's been caught , like a deer in headlights.

The Knitting Anarchist/y - An American friend of mine was talking to a veteran knitter of 60 years.  The American asked the Kiwi advice on changing yarn for yarn that wasn't in the pattern.  The Kiwi stated that she didn't know because she had never done that.  Greg told me the equivalent would be only programming what he has read in magazines/books.  It is unheard of here to change it up.  In this respect I'm an Anarchist.  There are no knitting rules.  Logo: 3 double pointed needles with a sock being started on them (so you've got a equi. triangle with a circle around it), add a 4th DPN horizontally through the 2 vertical sides.... voila!  Anarchy symbol.
