2 night layover
So, I'm relying on you, my adoring public, to give me some advice.  Of these places, which is the best (IYO) place to have a 2 night layover?
Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Osaka, or Bangkok
Keep in mind that I'm interested in food and culture, but most important is fabric and yarn stores.  I'd really love to hear your experience on any of these places.

I've been to Tokyo, Osaka, and Beijing... I think Tokyo might be your best choice for a short visit just because of the highly available public transport near a high density of potential things to see/do. Of course if you've already been to Tokyo then I would probably recommend going to someplace that you haven't been before.

I've only been to Hong Kong, but I do remember they had lot of fabric stands in the places I walked through (think outdoor markets). I bought some nice silks from my aunt in a department store as well - I couldn't find any of the open stands when I wanted one! I don't remember yarn, but I was only looking for fabrics while I was there.

And plus they speak english. :) And pretty good public transporation.
